The Texas Real Estate Commission’s Education Standards Advisory Committee (ESAC) met on January 12, 2026, to welcome new members and discuss upcoming work.

New Committee Members Welcomed

ESAC welcomed three new members to the committee:

  • Alisha Austin, license holder member
  • Mitch Rainey, license holder member
  • Roxie Glenn, public member

Committee leadership expressed appreciation for their willingness to serve and contribute to ESAC’s work supporting real estate education in Texas.

Election of Officers

The committee elected officers for the year. The following members were elected by majority vote:

  • Presiding officer (chair): Bill Steddum
  • Assistant presiding officer (vice chair): Cindy Baas
  • Secretary: Paul Silverman

Upcoming Job Task Analysis and Education Review

The committee’s next major initiative will be reviewing sales agent education requirements. That work will follow the completion of an upcoming job task analysis conducted by the Commission’s licensing exam vendor.

The job task analysis, which will be performed by subject matter experts and psychometricians, will identify the most relevant knowledge and skills required for today’s real estate professionals in Texas.

Once the analysis is complete, ESAC expects to review the structure and content of pre-licensing education courses.

Because the analysis will take several months to complete, the committee will not meet in April. As a result, the July meeting is expected to involve extensive discussion and review.

Upcoming Meetings

The committee announced the following upcoming meeting dates:
