TREC is required by law to set a passage rate benchmark that all approved qualifying education providers must meet to continue to offer qualifying courses for credit. Individuals trying to determine where to take courses to meet TREC education requirements may use the chart below.

The chart is calculated on a monthly basis and provides the overall average first-time passage rate (OPR) for all students who have taken the licensing exam to become a broker, sales agent, or inspector. Students are affiliated with the provider from whom they took the majority of their qualifying courses within the two-year period prior to taking the licensing exam.

Education providers are approved for four years and must apply for subsequent approval to offer courses for each additional four-year period. When a provider seeks subsequent approval, the Commission will review their exam passage rate ranking for each license category.

NOTE: The Commission has determined that it is misleading to include the information provided in this chart in any advertisement unless the advertisement also contains the percentage results shown below and the number of exams taken and passed in the same type size and prominence in the advertisement.

Providers are ranked as follows:

In Good Standing (Provider License Status: Active)

First-time passage rate of at least 80% of the OPR for that license category.

Subject to Probation (Provider License Status: Probation)

First-time pass rate at 50% or greater, but lower than 80% of the OPR for that license type. A provider who is "Subject to Probation" when filing an application for subsequent approval will be placed on probation and reviewed at the time the provider's annual operating fee is due. A provider who is "Subject to Probation" at the time it submits the annual fee will remain on probation. If the provider is "In Good Standing" at the time it submits the annual fee it will be removed from probation.

Subject to Disapproval or Revocation (Provider License Status: Revoked)

First-time pass rate below 50% of the OPR for that license type. A provider who is "Subject to Disapproval or Revocation" when filing an application for subsequent approval will be disapproved. A provider with a probationary license who is "Subject to Disapproval or Revocation" at the time it submits the annual fee will have its license revoked.
