Coming July 15: Update to Posting CE, SAE Course Credit
07/10/2024In an effort to ensure accuracy and the timeliness of posting course credit, TREC is updating the Posting System and all forms of course credit reporting to require the license holder’s last name. The last name and license number must match those stored in our database for credit to be awarded.

New Process for Borrowers Who Want Their Appraisal Values Reconsidered
07/03/2024Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have created new guidelines for Reconsideration of Value (ROV) policies with clearer expectations for lenders, appraisers, and borrowers.
ROVs are used when borrowers wish to appeal an appraisal when they believe the opinion of value is unsupported, deficient because of unacceptable appraisal practices, or reflects discriminatory practices.

04/06/2018It’s been a busy start of the year for the Commission. I traveled around the state in March as part of our Agency’s biennial strategic planning listening tour. This allowed me to receive input first hand from license holders across the state about issues that impact them directly. Tony Slagle, the agency’s inspector staff liaison visited a local chapter of an inspector trade association to discuss concerns and answer their questions. This is something staff is committed to doing more often.

TREC Announces Appointments to Inspector Advisory Committee

Mike Morgan of Brownwood was appointed as a new inspector member and Robert John Daehn of Aransas Pass and Dave Motley of Garland were appointed as public members. Customer Service Matters: How the Agency Has Improved

This new system allows callers to select from a list of options that will direct them to the best available person to address their issue to get the answers or help they need.
