The Broker Responsibility Advisory Committee (BRAC), Education Standards and Advisory Committee (ESAC), and Texas Real Estate Inspector Committee (TREIC) are accepting applications to fill a variety of membership slots. Applications are due August 14, 2026. Appointments will be made at the November 9, 2026, TREC Meeting with service beginning on January 1, 2027. Learn more about the committee selection process.

Broker Responsibility Advisory Committee

BRAC is composed of:

  • Two public members
  • Seven broker members who hold an active real estate broker license issued by the Commission and have been engaged in the practice of brokerage activity for at least five years prior to appointment.

BRAC is seeking to fill two public member positions and one broker member position. Apply now.

Education Standards and Advisory Committee

ESAC is composed of 12 members, including:

  • Seven who are license holders and who have been engaged in the practice of real estate for at least five years before the members' appointment and who are actively engaged in that practice.=
  • Four education members who are real estate instructors or owners of real estate schools, accredited by the Commission, that provide qualifying or continuing education
  • One public member.

ESAC is seeking to fill two instructor/owner positions and four real estate license holder positions for a two-year term. Apply now.

Texas Real Estate Inspector Committee

TREIC is made up of nine members appointed by the Commission:

  • Six inspector members
  • Three public members
