TREC Wins 3 ARELLO Awards

The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) is honored to receive three awards from the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO), which annually recognizes innovation and excellence among real estate regulators worldwide. This year TREC is recognized for a video series, its 2025-2026 Broker Responsibility Course (BRC), and a rental fraud investigation.

TREC Has a New Public Member

The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) welcomes a new commissioner. Governor Greg Abbott appointed Scott Olguin as a public member on September 17, 2025. His term will expire January 31, 2031.

Olguin of Horseshoe Bay is vice president of Dimensional Fund Advisors. He previously served as a firefighter with the Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department and was director of the Central Texas Electric Cooperative. Olguin also served in the Texas State Guard and received an honorable discharge in 2010.

TREC Meeting: Form Change Proposals, Comment on Broker Education and Experience Requirements

The Texas Real Estate Commission met August 11, marking the first meeting led by newly appointed Chair Mark Woodroof, of Houston, and for Broker Members Kristi Davis, of Carrollton, and J.B. Goodwin, of Austin (pictured below in order). It started with commissioner appointments to various committees and honoring outgoing Broker-Lawyer Committee members.
