During the holidays, I like to take time to reflect on the past year and the agency's direction. I am grateful for so many things during these times, including a fantastic team of employees, volunteers, and appointed Commission members.

TREC Purchasing Manager Named Woman of the Year
Submitted by Christine Anderson on Tue, 2020-12-01 14:40AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) is pleased to announce Regina Durden, purchasing manager, was named “Woman of the Year” by the Executive Women in Texas Government (EWTG). The announcement of this prestigious award was made at the November 2020 EWTG conference. Ms. Durden is the first recipient of this award at the Texas Real Estate Commission. Congratulations go to Ms. Durden on this well-deserved honor.

Print License History On Demand

This new features allowing anyone to print a certified license history ON DEMAND for FREE! This is just one more way TREC is working to simplify our processes to provide excellent customer service.

In these uncertain times, I urge us all to focus on what matters to us most. November brings Thanksgiving, and with that a unique opportunity to give thanks. This year is one for the record books, but I am grateful to live in the great state of Texas.
Search for Contracts Related CE Courses
Submitted by Christine Anderson on Sun, 2020-11-01 21:14Effective February 1, 2021, sales agents and brokers will be required to complete three hours of coursework on the subject of real estate contracts as part of the 18 hours of continuing education (CE) required to renew a license. TREC has made updates to the website to help prepare for the upcoming change.
TREC Announces New Deputy General Counsel
Submitted by Christine Anderson on Mon, 2020-10-26 14:31AUSTIN, TX - The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) is pleased to welcome Abby Lee as Deputy General Counsel of the Texas Real Estate Commission effective October 20, 2020.
Prior to joining TREC, Abby worked as in-house counsel for Texas REALTORS® for nearly eight years. During that time, she served as the Association’s liaison to the Texas Real Estate Commission—attending meetings, monitoring rulemaking, and working with TREC staff. Most recently, Abby served as an assistant general counsel for the Texas Medical Association.
From the Chair - Inspector Committee - October 2020
Submitted by Christine Anderson on Wed, 2020-10-14 10:32The Inspector Advisory Committee met on October 12 via teleconference. There were some public comments submitted in response to the newly proposed Consumer Protection Notice, and most of the feedback was positive. The new notice includes verbiage to inform consumers that inspectors are required to carry E&O insurance, and that inspectors have the ability to limit their liability through the use of an agreement between themselves and their client.
