Happy March. Spring is approaching and with it comes a fresh start and the excitement of warmer weather. I welcome it after the freezing temperatures we experienced in February. I hope all of you made it through that extraordinary event safely.

Changes to the following rules were proposed:
The new inspector qualifying education and experience requirements for real estate and professional inspector licenses begin March 1, 2021. Applicants who have registered for qualifying courses prior to March 1, 2021, under the previous education requirements, will have until June 30, 2021, to complete all coursework and submit certificates with a completed application under those requirements.
Pursuant to section 551.0411 of the Texas Government Code, the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) is postponing its February 16, 2021, quarterly open meeting to February 19, 2021, at 9:00 am. The State of Texas is experiencing unprecedented snowfall, extreme temperatures, rolling blackouts, and power outages that are catastrophic and prohibitive of conducting the meeting at its posted scheduled date and time.
