REALM Portal Progress Update

A major focus of the meeting was the continued rollout of the Real Estate and Appraiser License Management (REALM) Portal.

You can request a copy of your license directly through your REALM Portal account in just a few steps:

1. Log in to your REALM Portal account and go to My Records.
2. Locate your license and click Amendment on the same row.
3. In the Type of Change Request dropdown, select License Reprint, then click Continue.
4. Check the confirmation box and click Continue.
5. On the confirmation page, submit your request.

A copy of your license will be emailed to you.

The Education Standards Advisory Committee (ESAC) met on October 6, 2025, to welcome a new member, review upcoming technology improvements by the Real Estate and Appraiser License Management (REALM) Portal, and discuss legislative changes that grant the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) rulemaking authority over initial sales agent license education requirements.

The committee welcomed Jean Mitchell. She takes Kandi Luensmann’s place after her move to TREC’s Broker-Lawyer Committee (BLC).

Registration is now open for the Texas Real Estate Commission's (TREC) upcoming Legal Update I and II Instructor Training sessions. These in-person trainings are designed for instructors planning to offer the 2026–2027 Legal Update I and II courses—and they're headed to cities across Texas!

This training is essential for any instructor who wants to remain eligible to teach these statutorily mandated courses. Only those who have successfully completed the updated training will be qualified to deliver Legal Update I and II content to TREC license holders.

San Antonio hosted the Texas Real Estate Commission’s (TREC) second quarterly meeting of 2025 on May 5. This also marks the Commission’s third out-of-Austin meeting: Traveling to “meet people where they are” is an effort started by TREC Chair R. Scott Kesner in 2023.

The Education Standards Advisory Committee (ESAC) met on April 7 to hear updates from agency staff on the upcoming launch of a new licensing system, and to review rule changes related to exam proctoring.

Going Online

Later this year, the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) is rolling out a new licensing system that will allow TREC-approved education providers to submit course and provider applications online. This also means all documentation typically required with those applications will be submitted through the new online format.
