The Texas Real Estate Commission is accepting applications for appointment for four real estate license holders members and two education members to the Education Standards Advisory Committee (ESAC).  Committee members will serve a two-year term beginning January 1, 2021, and expiring December 31, 2022. Real estate license holders applying must have been actively engaged in the practice of real estate for the five years preceding the appointment. Education members must be a real estate instructor or an owner of a real estate school that provides qualifying or continuing education. Additional consideration will be given to the following categories: past committee service, geographic diversity, size of real estate school (educator), and size of real estate practice (real estate license holders).

ESAC reviews curriculum standards, course content requirements, and instructor requirements for qualifying and continuing education courses and makes recommendations to the Commission regarding these topics. The committee is permitted to meet by teleconference, although it is anticipated that some travel to Austin may be necessary. All committee meetings must comply with the Open Meetings Act.

Those wishing to be considered for appointment should send their application, resume, and a cover letter to TREC General Counsel at general.counsel@trec.texas.gov. To be considered for appointment, applications must be received no later than September 21, 2020, at 5:00 pm.
