TREC Processing Dates
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is experiencing technical difficulties affecting turnaround times for FBI fingerprint-based criminal history results. This may result in a delay in processing an application for licensure. DPS is working to fix this issue but has not shared a timeline for resolution. For more information on this delay, reach out to DPS or visit its website.
The processing dates provided below are updated every Monday by 3:00 PM Central Time.

TREC is Open for Business

In the midst of this crisis, the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) has worked to ensure continued service to license holders and the public while protecting our employees. As a result, our physical offices in Austin are closed to the public, and staff and operations have transitioned to working remotely.

A Closer Look at the 2019 Legislative Session

While the Agency’s primary focus this session was on our Sunset legislation, we did keep our eye on the progress of several bills that could have impacted the Agency in one way or another.

AGENCY RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED AWARDS
Submitted by Christine Anderson on Fri, 2018-08-31 10:10Austin, TX – The Texas Real Estate Commission and Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board is pleased to announce the agency has won two coveted Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO) Communications Awards. One is for the new integrated communications plan, and the other for Board and Commission meeting communications. The agency will be recognized for these achievements and will make presentations on these topics at the ARELLO Annual Conference on September 28th, 2018.
Using "Realty" In Team Names
Submitted by Christine Anderson on Tue, 2018-08-14 16:34At the Commission Meeting on Monday, August 13, 2018, the Commission adopted changes to the advertising rules (§535.155) allowing Broker team names to include the term "realty," so long as the other requirements for team names are met. For example, a team name must still end with the word “team” or “group.” A team name of “John Doe Realty Group” is allowed, but a team name of “John Doe Realty” is not.
Customer Service Matters: How the Agency Has Improved

A new call tree system has been added to our main customer services lines. This new system allows callers to select from a list of options that will direct them to the best available person to address their issue to get the answers or help they need.
