2020 Census, What You Need to Know

Did you know the data collected from the census is used all around you? For Texas to get an accurate level of funding and representation in the future, all Texans should fill out a survey.

The US constitution requires a census to be conducted every ten years to count everyone living. After each census, the information is used for the following:

    TREC Processing Dates

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is experiencing technical difficulties affecting turnaround times for FBI fingerprint-based criminal history results. This may result in a delay in processing an application for licensure. DPS is working to fix this issue but has not shared a timeline for resolution. For more information on this delay, reach out to DPS or visit its website.

The processing dates provided below are updated every Monday by 3:00 PM Central Time

    TREC is Open for Business

COVID-19 has impacted daily life as we know it.  In the midst of this crisis, the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) has worked to ensure continued service to license holders and the public while protecting our employees. As a result, our physical offices in Austin are closed to the public, and staff and operations have transitioned to working remotely.

UPDATE: Planning and Introductory Tour POSTPONED

Due to the extraordinary events related to the COVID - 19 outbreak TREC has decided to postpone all dates on the upcoming introductory and planning tour. We will, to the best of our ability, reschedule all planned dates. If you have further questions about TREC's response to the COVID - 19 outbreak please be sure to refer to our FAQs.

    Using "Realty" In Team Names

At the Commission Meeting on Monday, August 13, 2018, the Commission adopted changes to the advertising rules (§535.155) allowing Broker team names to include the term "realty," so long as the other requirements for team names are met. For example, a team name must still end with the word “team” or “group.” A team name of “John Doe Realty Group” is allowed, but a team name of “John Doe Realty” is not.

This new system allows callers to select from a list of options that will direct them to the best available person to address their issue to get the answers or help they need.
