Announcing The Application Status Tracker

The Texas Real Estate Commission is pleased to announce the launch of our new application status tracker.

This new tool is an easy way for anyone to track the status of initial applications, reducing delays and confusion about what comes next. This, along with our name management tool, are prime examples of TREC’s focus on improved customer service and efficiency.

For now, this new tool is only available to track the progress of initial Real Estate Sales Agent applications. We will be adding other applications to this tracker in the coming months. 

Commission Appoints Six to Education Standards Advisory Committee

AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Real Estate Commission is pleased to announce the recent appointments of six new committee members to the Education Standards Advisory Committee. Sarah Norman of Bryan, Jason Woodward of Amarillo, Felicia Peters of Grandbury, Scott Kesner of El Paso, Rob Cook of Houston, and public member Marcela Gomez of Austin have been appointed as members, with terms set to expire in 2019.

TREC Announces Extension For All License Holders Affected By Hurricane Harvey

In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, the Texas Real Estate Commission and the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (the Agency) extended all deadlines for two months for all license holders and applicants statewide with license expiration or application deadlines in August and September. This extension ended on October 31, 2017. 

TREC Complaints and Education Providers

Testing Provider Closing Testing Centers Due To Hurricane

Due to Hurricane Harvey, our testing provider, Pearson Vue, will be closing some of the sites in Texas over the next few days.  Site closures keep coming in, and they are reaching out to all candidates via email to let them know that their appointment will need to be rescheduled.

License Exams Now Available On Military Installations

The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) is pleased to announce that the Texas real estate sales agent, broker, and inspector licensure exams are now conveniently available at over 200 Pearson VUE test centers as well as on military installations across the globe for service members, spouses, dependents, and contractors with authorized base access.

88th Texas Legislative Session Update, and the Impact on License Holders

The 88th Texas Legislature, Regular Session, began January 10, 2023, and ends May 29, 2023. This session opened with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and Texas Appraiser Licensing Board (TALCB) following 358 bills relevant to the administration of the agency.  A much smaller number will become law, one of relevance to Texas real estate license holders.
