The Real Estate and Appraiser License Management Portal will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance on Thursday, June 18 from 9 p.m. CT through Friday, June 19 at 4 a.m. CT. Please handle any business related to your license before or after this window. 

A broker or brokerage wanting to become associated with a business broker or brokerage must initiate the request through the Real Estate and Appraiser License Management (REALM) Portal.

Step 1: Apply

Start your application in the Real Estate and Appraiser License Management (REALM) Portal.

• Select "Course – Real Estate CE" under TREC Continuing Education (CE) section.
• Verify provider license number.
• Begin application and answer initial eligibility questions.

Step 2: Build Your Course

Add all required course components.

If you need to change the designated broker for a business entity or return a business entity to active status, you can complete the process through the Real Estate and Appraiser License Management (REALM) Portal.

Before you begin, make sure you have the required documents ready to upload, including:

• Proof of managing authority.
• Proof of ownership or errors and omissions (E&O) insurance documentation.

To place your license on inactive status, log in to the Real Estate and Appraiser License Management (REALM) Portal and follow these steps:

You can request a copy of your license directly through your REALM Portal account in just a few steps:

1. Log in to your REALM Portal account and go to My Records.
2. Locate your license and click Amendment on the same row.
3. In the Type of Change Request dropdown, select License Reprint, then click Continue.
4. Check the confirmation box and click Continue.
5. On the confirmation page, submit your request.

A copy of your license will be emailed to you.

How to Change and Accept Sponsorship Requests

Brokers and sales agents can request and accept sponsorship changes in the REALM Portal. As long as the sponsorship appears correctly in the REALM Portal, it is considered effective—even if it has not yet updated in the License Holder Search on the website. Please note it can take a few hours before the changes appear in the REALM Portal and on the license holder search.

License holders have the option to register LLCs and S-Corporations (S-Corps) with TREC for the sole purpose of receiving compensation, as long as those entities meet certain requirements.
