Renewal Education Information

The Texas Real Estate Commission is pleased to announce the launch of our Renewal Education Information page on our website. On this page, anyone can review the education required for renewing your real estate sales agent or broker license. For now, this information is only available for sales agents and brokers who are within 90 days of their expiration date.

Jennifer Wheeler

Jennifer Wheeler is the Director of Education and Examination Services Division for the Texas Real Estate Commission and Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board.  Jennifer joined TREC in 2011, prior to which she practiced real estate as a licensed sales agent in Austin, TX.  She is an alumna of Calvin College (Grand Rapids, MI) and Texas State University (San Marcos, TX).  Jennifer holds a Certified Real Estate Instructor (CREI) certification, a Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI) certification, and the REEA Gold Standard Instructor certification.  A native Texan, Jenni

Denise Sample

Denise Sample joined TREC on August 13, 2012 as the Licensing Manager before becoming the Director of Licensing & Registration Services on March 1, 2019. She has 10 years of experience in managing occupational licensing programs with the state. Her previous experience was obtained as the Licensing Manager at the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners.

Required Revisions to Remaining Qualifying Courses

Deadlines for content revisions to the Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Investments, Real Estate Law and Residential Inspection for Real Estate Agents qualifying real estate course topics were adopted and are effective on August 7, 2018 for classroom courses and November 7, 2018 for courses offered through distance education.  If you have not resubmitted your courses for review, you may do so by mailing the Qualifying Real Estate Course Application, applicable course approval fo
