Information Regarding Recovery Fund
TREC has a fund to help reimburse consumers who suffer damages caused by TREC license holders: the Real Estate Recovery Trust Account. Consumers may file an application for payment from the Real Estate Recovery Trust Account after filing suit and obtaining a final judgment in civil court for damages against a licensed real estate broker, sales agent, or easement/right-of-way agent (or an employee or agent of such a license holder) for certain conduct.
Renew Your Business Entity Real Estate Broker License
As a Business Entity Real Estate Broker, you must renew your license every two years. A renewal notice will be sent out about 90 days before your expiration date. Until you receive this notice of renewal, you cannot renew your license.
Requirements for renewing your Business Entity Broker License:
The Business Entity’s designated broker must be individually licensed as an active Texas real estate broker in good standing with TREC.
