The Texas Real Estate Commission is soliciting interest for membership of the 2020 Broker Responsibility Working Group (BRWG).  The BRWG will make recommendations to the Commission based on the scope of its charge and will likely meet four or five times over the 2020 calendar year.  The Commission is charging the BRWG to examine experience requirements for potential substitution of education requirements to become a broker.  The BRWG will review broker licensing requirements, minimum competency requirements, broker mentorship programs, minimum service requirements in relation to service fees, and temporary out of state registrations for commercial transactions.

The BRWG will also review recommendations brought forward by the previous BRWG to determine which of those items should be carried forward.

The Commission requests all active licensed brokers interested in participating as a member to submit a resume and cover letter to general.counsel@trec.texas.gov by March 6, 2020. Within the cover letter, please include why you would like to participate on the BRWG.  The Commission seeks a diverse applicant pool to include:
•    Newly licensed and experienced brokers;
•    Brokers within various sized brokerages;
•    Brokers from all geographic areas; and
•    Commercial and residential brokers.
